The Sacrament of Confirmation, along with Baptism and Eucharist, is one of the three sacraments of initiation. At Confirmation the Holy Spirit strengthens the baptized Christian and endows her or him with gifts to enable us to carry out our mission to be Christ in the world and to continue building God’s kingdom. To be fully initiated member of the Catholic Church, one needs to be baptized, confirmed and receive first Eucharist.

Teens

The process of preparation at Our Lady of the Lake is open to youth in grades 7 through 11 and is offered through our youth ministry program. The journey of preparation invites boys and girls to deepen his/her relationship with Jesus.

Effective in May of 2016, the Diocese of Cleveland has issued guidelines which are asking parishes to extend the period of preparation over a two-year period. This year, the Diocese is permitting us to keep the one-year process for current 8th graders.  With current 7th graders, we are implementing the two-year preparation process, per the new Diocesan guidelines.

We invite those seeking the sacrament of Confirmation to begin their preparation for full initiation into the Catholic Church by calling 216-486-0850 or emailing Mrs. Rita Testa for more information on the preparation process.
