Seeking Nominations for a New Model of Pastoral Council

The Council would be a working group of engaged and committed parishioners who would not only meet regularly, but who would engage other parishioners in their considerations.

In addition to parish staff, the goal is to have 9-12 parishioners who would be discerned or voted into a 3 year term, at the end of which a new Council, with new issues and concerns, would be convened. Orientation would be in midsummer with the new Council starting in September.

The two major issues of concern which the next Council would investigate, consider, and make suggestions about:

  1. Ministering with and to our young adult population, those between the ages of 20 and 40.
  2. Reaching out to, connecting with and trying to understand those who have “drifted away” during and after the merger of Holy Cross and St. Christine parishes, in the hope of drawing some of them back into the life of the parish.

If you care about our parish and its place in our neighborhood, if you still remain committed to the Church despite our “sinful but holy” status, if you want to make a positive difference in who we are and how we go forward, then please give all of this serious consideration, no matter how young or how old you may be.

If you would like to nominate yourself or someone else (whom you’ve already asked) to serve on the Pastoral Council, please let email joe@olleuclid.org, call 216-486-0850, ext. 24, or fill out the form below.
