Throughout the next several months Fr. Joe will host several Small Group Discussions called “Something Happens in the Sharing.” The conversations are all about fostering engagement and building relationships in our parish. We will be gathering participants already actively involved at Our Lady of the Lake from a variety of different activities and ministries. The hope is that each participant will share from their experience what they have been doing and what it has meant and offered to them. We are convinced that this sharing will be affirming and life-giving. Participants will begin to make new connections. They will also appreciate better the wide range of activities and ministries of the parish and perhaps even get some new and creative ideas about how better to engage others in all of them.
We really welcome the chance to engage you directly and learn more about the things that have mattered enough to you to get involved. Each conversation will include ten to fifteen participants and last about an hour to an hour and a half. Although Fr. Joe will facilitate the conversation, the tone will be informal and relaxed.
Before you come, please think about the following questions:
- What are you involved in at the parish and how did you come to be involved?
- What are some things that you receive from being in the parish that you do not get from
other groups to which you belong?
So please join Fr. Joe and a few other parishioners the rectory and see what happens in the sharing. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided.
