Our Lady of the Lake
Music is an integral part of most liturgies. While the assembly is called to participate in singing, accompaniment and leadership can provide support that inspires the assembly’s participation. If you like to play an instrument or sing, please consider joining one of our groups.
Parish Choir… Responsibilities include enhancing the liturgy usually at one Mass per weekend. Occasionally, they will be a part of outreach programs. Members must have the ability to match pitch, but the ability to read music is not necessary. Rehearsals are generally Wednesdays from 7:00 p.m.-8:30p.m.
The Contemporary Group… Consisting of singers and instrumentalists, H.S. age and up, who enhance the liturgy every other weekend at the 10am Mass. Rehearsals are every other Saturdays.
Ensembles… Consisting of singers and instrumentalists, H.S. age and up, who enhance the liturgy upon their availability. Rehearsals are when director and ensemble can meet.
The Cantor Ministry… Cantors must possess good ministerial, leadership, ear-training, and vocal skills. Rehearsals are scheduled individually. The ability to read music is desired, but not necessary. They sing at designated Masses. Acceptance into to this ministry is at the discretion of the music director. Youth welcome!
Percussion… Members may be as young as 3rd grade would play at weekend liturgies, enhancing the liturgy with percussion instruments as appropriate. A good sense of rhythm is needed. Youth Registration Form
Parish Youth Choir… Children, reading age – 8th grade would sing at designated weekend Masses during the year as they are ready, or for designated occasions. Rehearsals are Wednesday from 7-8p with adult singers, or when director and choir can meet. Youth Registration Form
OLL School Youth Choir… Children grades 2-8 would sing at designated OLL school Masses during the year. Rehearsals are Mondays from 2:30-3:15pm. Youth Registration Form
