The Genesis group is for all adults over 55 years of age, who are married, single or widowed. They gather to be social, share meals, grow and serve together. Each meeting begins with a light brunch, and then follows with a short informal business meeting (occasionally including a guest speaker). While being a predominantly social organization, service projects are done for the benefit of the parish and parishioners. They have provided dinner for the homebound, donated scholarship money to Life on the Lake and have assembled LIFT home kits – just to name a few.
They meet the first Sunday of each month (except July and August) at 11:00am in the church hall. Guests are welcome and encouraged to attend in order to determine whether they might wish to become a member.

We also have several sub-groups that are part of what we do:
The Genesis Book Club meets the last Tuesday of the month at 7:00pm in the rectory (except in July, August and December). All adults are welcome to join in the lively discussions – even if they aren’t members of the Genesis group! We try to read a variety of books including biographies, classics, award winning fiction and non-fiction and current popular fiction. While it is preferred to attend after finishing the current book, come even if you haven’t completed the reading! The books are usually available at any of the area libraries and can be purchased at any book store. Watch parish publications for upcoming titles and meeting dates.
This group meets for social evenings that include good food, good conversation and the opportunity to get to know members in a new setting. It is truly a wonderful evening. Volunteers rotate hosting the evening and members can participate as often as they like. Watch the Genesis Newsletter and announcements at Genesis meetings for dates, times and places.
The Genesis Social Committee organizes fun events intended to foster a sense of community and hospitality. Previous events include a wine and cheese party; a Night at the Races; and “field trips” to the Cuyahoga County Scenic Railroad, the Lourdes Shrine and Lakeview Cemetery. Watch the Genesis Newsletter and announcements at Genesis meetings for upcoming events and information.
In addition to announcements at meetings, the “Genesis Newsletter” is the most common transmitter of information about the life of this vibrant organization.
Each issue includes administration contact information, upcoming meeting announcements, committee updates and enrichment opportunities and a biography of a member (or couple). Every issue is mailed to all current Genesis members.
