There are several occasions in which Jesus encounters known sinners and they seem to be moved or changed for the better. I don’t know what inspired them to change, but it is always from the bad to the good. Often, Jesus will tell them that their faith has saved them. I tried the approach of putting myself in the story, in Zacchaeus’s shoes. I would have climbed up higher to get a glimpse too. We are constantly reminded that Jesus didn’t come to save those that already believed, but to save those that were ‘lost’.
